‘Crypto’ — The Thriller Movie involving Cryptocurrency is all set for release in 2019

Crypto, a crime thriller, is reportedly being filmed which features an agent who is laundering money along with a cryptocurrency case. The cast of the movie includes actors like Vincent Kartheiser, Jeremie Harris, Beau Knapp, Alexis Bledel, Luke Hemsworth and Kurt Russell.

Storyline of Crypto

The movie actually takes place in a remote New York hometown of a U.S. government agent. Kurt Russell is the father and Luke Hemsworth is the brother who struggles in order to maintain their own family farm in a changing economic landscape.

This film centres on Beau Knapp, a young money laundering agent, whose job is to investigate a tangled web of fraud and corruption. He suddenly finds himself trapped in a dangerous underworld ruled by a very mysterious art dealer who is also a cryptocurrency fanatic. This role is played by Alexis Bledel who as a crypto enthusiast, later on, turns into a corrupt, cyber criminal.

Cryptocurrency has captured imagination and attention of entrepreneurs and consumers all over the world but it has never been explored in a film in such an exciting and modulating way.

Production of Crypto

According to a news source, this indie film is directed by John Stalberg Jr, who also directed the movie ‘High School’ in 2010. Crypto is written by David Frigerio and Carlyle Eubank. Producer credits include Jordan Beckerman, Jordan Yale Levine and Frigerio.

Bitcoin at the Movies

Crypto is not actually the first movie to be featured on the basis of cryptocurrency. The first film to debut in cinemas worldwide was Dope in the year 2015. Another film was also announced named ‘Bitcoin’ in 2016 that features a suburban father who has lost his job and is trying to convert bitcoin into cash from an unknown accountant in order to save his family. The film is currently in pre-production stage.
